MDAs

MDAs available in Mashonaland East

The government presence in any Zimbabwean province, including Mashonaland East, involves a wide range of ministries, departments, and agencies. Here’s a breakdown:

Ministry of Agriculture

Given Mashonaland East's strong agricultural base, this ministry has a significant presence.

Devolution projects in Mashonaland East Province focus on improving local governance, infrastructure development, and enhancing service delivery. These initiatives typically include the establishment of local councils, community engagement in development projects, and allocation of resources to empower local authorities. Specific projects may vary over time and often depend on government policies and available funding.

Health Services

While there are ongoing efforts to improve healthcare in Mashonaland East Province, challenges such as disease outbreaks, maternal and child health issues, and access to healthcare services persist. Recent reports indicate that the province is experiencing outbreaks of diseases like cholera. This highlights vulnerabilities in sanitation and access to clean water. Efforts are being made to improve maternal and child health through programs like the Integrated Care Model. Studies have shown that these models can reduce child morbidity and improve maternal health outcomes. However, challenges remain, including issues related to malnutrition, with concerns around stunting, underweight, and dietary diversity among children.

Health Facilities

Mashonaland East Province has several health facilities catering to the needs of its residents.
